Woman Veteran wanting to go into business with my Son, a VA registered caregiver. We both are computer-savvy. I've known my way around a computer since the 1980s. My son has some programming skills. I just want to say that my heart is with many of you during these unprecedented times. But how awesome it is that we have tools like this and that we can serve each other just by helping build each other's networks!! Husband is unemployed from civilian employment both in part due to the company's economic downturn + the pandemic. With a good head on our shoulders and with persistence and resolve, we will get through and we all see better days ahead!

Hi everyone- Information about a career at VA can be found at http://www.vacareers.va.gov. There you can learn about veteran hiring preferences, open opportunities and benefits. I maintain a "Veterans Job Search" series pinned to my Twitter- https://twitter.com/DarrenRS. Feel free to follow and share. Networking, like you are doing now, and preparing is the best advice. Many may not think about it, but most jobs in VA, are in healthcare, while many Veterans are not. For that reason, I like to encourage "Think College, Think Healthcare, Think VA". My second favorite tip is to "Think Rural". You will find less competition in more remote locations. Since VA is a employer of choice and the largest healthcare organization in the US, applications and qualifications must be pristine. By learning and practice, you will set yourself apart from others, whether applying at VA or any employer. #NeverQuit #WorkatVA
