Libertarian Party candidates have it in 2014 — IF YOU VOTE Libertarian.

Why? Unlike the Democratic and Republican candidates, our Libertarian Party candidates for public office have one rock-solid issue — and a clear, powerful message.

Our rock-solid issue: To dramatically expand and advance individual liberty in America.

Our clear, powerful message: Vote for us, elect us, and we will do everything we can to dramatically roll back today's Big Government. To dramatically shrink the size, power, authority, responsibility, taxes, and spending of federal, state, and local Big Government.

Voting Libertarian is voting to give people back their own lives. Their own choices. Their own destinies.

The news media is covering more Libertarian Party candidates more often than ever before.

Because voters are looking us over.

Because 18- to 35-year-old voters are voting for Libertarian Party candidates in higher and higher numbers.

Because the Libertarian Party issues and proposals are the growing choice of a new, young generation.

Because this young generation of voters is talking about us and our government-shrinking, liberty-expanding issues — with their friends and families.

Your vote on Tuesday, Nov. 4, for our Libertarian Party candidates turns up the volume of the word of mouth.

Your vote is seen and talked about by Republican and Democratic Party activists and operatives.

AND by the election night news reporters. AND by the post-election news analysts. ESPECIALLY those on the Internet, in new media.

Your vote may well have 100 times the impact of each vote cast for a Democratic or Republican candidate.

It just might attract more and more voters to the Libertarian Party — to the Libertarian alternative — in 2015 and 2016. And get us closer to the Libertarian tipping point. MAJ Dallas D. In reality I dont believe in either side. I go for who I dislike the most. Neither side, or any party trying to get into congress right now, believe in whats best for the country.Only the party matters along with money and power. It is no longer about reaching across party lines to get things done. In 2 to 4 years control will shift again. A never ending cycle. Unfortunately thosè who have roamed the capitol halls too long who are out of touch with modern reality will keep getting reelected over younger candidates with fresh ideas who have less money and lobbies to back them. Think about it. Does a candidate or incumbent in their late sixties up to their eighties (Strom Thurman was reelected in his 90s) have any fresh Ideas? A lot of talk is given to give people what they want to hear, they get elected/ reelected then its back to buisiness as usual, not getting anything done.ANY single party in control of congress let alone the presidency added to that control is not a good thing. There is no balance. Either way it seems more and more the politicians are bought in not necessarily voted in. Some are just a waste of space and air and thats with both parties and independents that have been around too long.
Just remember, many of these representatives of the people who have been shouting for a drawdown and looking to change benifits and entitlements while not willing to cut anything they receive are now calling for the military to come back into play with all thats going on in the world right now. ISIS, Ebola etc.
I dont care what party is involved, Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Constitutional etc. Unless some younger more in touch candidates appear and get backing with fresh ideas, its business as usual.
Now bring on the retorts, positive, negative or other, Im ready.
My 2 bits. Happy background checks in Washington state passed, was happen to see local/state minimum wage initiatives pass cause I think that is where that issue needs to be dealt with, knew the senate would go to the GOP, since WWII, every 6th year election of a 2 term President has seen an average of 6 senate seats move from the senate majority party, to the minority party. That's been pretty consistent. In the end, from an individual standpoint, I think I was at a 60% DEM/40% GOP split. I've noticed on here folks claiming Republicans are better than Democrats, or vice versa, or the Tea Party is better than both, or just that the Tea Party sucks period. In my humble opinion, each of the parties are worthless just the same as 99.999% (not all of them) of those in those seats.
I say this because:
Not one of them have really (if at all) put the American working class (those not in the upper crust) first. When you hear of these fundraising dinners, do you pay attention to the cost of the plates, and the perks given by the amount you pay extra to meet someone who puts their pants on the same way you do.
Notice that if a military member ever spent time degrading another Soldier like we allow politicians to do every election, that Soldier would be considered unprofessional as all hell, but a person who is elected gets a free pass? And they oversee the military? Add to it all those remarks are mostly about nothing?
We have term limits on Presidents, but we have career politicians and when they get the "boot" they don't go far; they turn into lobbyists for some major corporation in DC. Is this fair to the nation? Are they representing US or are they (as usual representing those who make up the 1% of America)? Are we as a nation allowing our freedoms to be used against us in the sense these politicians stay in office based upon the same ol song and dance, in some cases well over 20 years? Yet really have no accountability, and we have no recourse when we know they're screwing up massively?
These same people shut down the government. No matter what side of the isle you're on, it was done, but the kicker was they got paid during the shutdown. How is it the working Joe has to suffer, but these can't? Sure some of them gave some or all of their pay back as a token gesture, but was the shutdown a situation that could've been avoided by ALL sides? But we re-elect those same folks
Many of these same folks have known about the issues with the VA for decades. Did they do anything to fix it then? Any hearings (Bueler....Bueler....)? The VA has plagued troops since it's conception and GEN Shensecki stepped down. Shouldn't those who have been in office do the same since this problem is older that either of the last three presidents? Tammy Duckworth has my respect for being a vet, AND chewing out a VA rep in a viral video.
The ACA was written into law (like it or not), and is the law of the land. If it's the law of the land, why is Congress exempt from using it?
How many congressmen have gone to any college that didn't belong to the Ivy League? I know there are some, but I bet not many. Who was the last president that didn't go to Harvard or any other ivy league school?
We have a new crop of vets voted in. Great news. Will they get railroaded by the current batch of Reps and Senators who have no clue other than CoD what the military is really like?
These are some of my rants in politics and congress in general (Didn't go in on the presidents because they're just as bad as congress). Are there some in DC trying to do the right thing. YES. But the shame is they get swallowed in the BS from those who know the system in and out, control the purse strings, and can easily make them the odd man out. Are there some that truly care beyond the re-election? YES. Are there good folks in any political party YES. Labeling something 100% is wrong, and unreasonable. Are we making our own situation worse by voting in the SAME people who are known to do nothing and get a check for it....IMO yes we are. Are we going to continue to get the same things we've gotten over the last 20+ years yes we are. The only way to correct this is to allow all of them to gracefully leave office, and bring in new blood. With this we'll have a new set of eyes, new ideas, those who can look at the past and use it to shape our future, not be the past and revel in it. Bring US into those halls. Could you imagine a CSM, Chief, SGM or a Master Chief as a ranking member of the committees that oversee the services or VA? It's time to give those in congress a DD214 with a reup code of "Don't come back...ever", a pat on the back, a flag flown over the capitol (hopefully) and the knowledge that those we vote into office represent ALL of America not big anything, just the poor, the middle class, or the rich. I don't want to come off as bitter or disrespectful. I just want some honest change for America, and don't see us getting it with the current crop in all branches in DC. I did not vote for a single incumbent candidate unless they were Libertarian (there were none). Any time I saw an unopposed candidate, I used the write-in option and wrote myself in, because trolling. Any time I saw a Libertarian candidate, I voted for them if I knew their platforms. I did not vote for a single Republican (all incumbents here in GA), and I voted for one Democrat simply because I knew that person's platform and happened to agree -- it was for a local county commissioner and I'd done my homework ahead of time.

I'll tell you why I did not vote for any single incumbent. Because with a government that has a 10% approval rating, the fact that 90% of them got re-elected is absofuckinglutely ridiculous. I know for a fact that for two years people have bitched and moaned about how awful our government is. Our government has consistently failed to do its job in just about everything, and we re-elect these assclowns? Seriously? Not to mention a Congress that shut down the government JUST LAST YEAR. I weep for our nation and the ignorance that says "But this year will be different!" It's never different, as long as we keep sending the same jokers in to represent us year after year. Wake up.

I'll tell you why I chose to vote the way I did -- because contrary to the retired Major who went around spamming every single reply with "A vote for third-party is a vote for Dems!" and cries of throwing away my vote, it was a little bit rebellion and also: I vote my conscience.

I'd rather stick to my principles than sell out to a party that doesn't represent me or speak for me, that I don't identify with. It's better to be a lone voice in the night than to be silent and let them do what they want. It might just be that your voice draws others together in the darkness. Dems are just way too left for me.

Americans left Europe for a reason, Dems (in my opinion) keep trying to bring the European model stuff here. It is causing those countries to go bankrupt, can't stand the arrogance that makes them feel it will work here. I wish we had listened to the advice of George Washington who advocated that we have NO political parties. And I wish we had heeded Thomas Jefferson’s advice that each generation be responsible for the debt it incurs and not pass it on to future generations. We wouldn’t be in the fiscal mess we are in or dealing with the corruption we’re seeing now — especially in the Democratic Party which has lost its way and embraced Socialism. Frankly, what the DNC supports is 180 out from what Christianity teaches us about morality and individual responsibility and accountability for one’s actions and that there is a negative consequence for acting immorally... I could not stomach looking at myself in the mirror were I to vote Democrat. I might find it in myself to vote for a Libertarian, Constitutionalist, or Independent though. Capt Jeff S.
