I was young and dumb. Now I really want to serve my time and talked to an army recruiterho sent my info out to get a waiver. My question is how long should I expect to wait to get a waiver to re-enlist? Wait time to re-enlist? 2019-02-28T20:11:05-05:00 Chris Johnston 4409956 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello,about two years ago I failed marine corps bootcamp after two weeks and they labeled me with ajustement disorder. Wait time varies greatly. And the wait time is to see if it is accepted or not. You could be waiting just to be told no. Just being straight with you and it doesn’t look good. Someone will fry for letting you near a gun. Even if possible, no guarantees it will be approved. Those circumstances &quot;adjustment disorder&quot; and &quot;failure to adapt&quot; are tough ones because you already demonstrated that you are unfit for military service during initial entry training. The military does not owe a second chance to someone discharged for those reasons. I am curious to know what you mean by &quot;sent my info out to get a waiver&quot;? Did you present your discharge paperwork to a recruiter to determine in the regulation if a waiver is even possible? Were you screened to determined if you were otherwise qualified? Did you complete an enlistment packet? Did you provide your birth certificate, SS Card, HS diploma, etc.? Did you sign a form to have your MEPS processing records and test scores from your previous enlistment in the USMC transferred to the Army? Have you re-taken the MEPS physical exam? All those things are required prior to even submitting a waiver request. After your waiver packet has been thoroughly reviewed by the recruiting battalion operations section, then an interview with the Battalion Commander is the next step where you present your case. Then a decision is made by the approval authority which usually takes just a day or two. If none of those things have happened yet, then the waiver process has not even begun yet. So you need to be a little more specific about &quot;sent my info out to get a waiver&quot;.
