From real-life experience, I know that the Thanksgiving to New Year's period is the loneliest and most costly in terms of suicides. You are likely to come across a Vet standing at a street corner with a cardboard sign, needing some sort of assistance. Here's a real number to call to get quick help for one of our own.

I like the idea, SCPO (Join to see) !! Just a couple of questions.... Can you tell me who is sponsoring this? I mean, what is their resume? Do they do this in all 50 states? I was just curious before I give it to anyone. Thank you !!

It originates with the VA. I know that can engender all kinds of bad thoughts, but I have checked this program out, and I think they are as sincere about and dedicated to helping our homeless and needy Veterans.

SCPO (Join to see) - It sounds like a great program. I hope that our homeless Vets will take advantage of it, especially now, during these cold winter months. Again, thanks for posting this !!

I might make up some homemade business cards with this number on it, keep a few in my billfold and hand out to the homeless vets that I occasionally come across.

Exactly what I'm doing with VistaPrint. Ten bucks, 250 cards, with clearly printed information, nothing fancy.
