Was targeting the clinic in Afghanistan a war crime?

Absolutely not. That facility has been a marked protected target going all of the way back to when I was in Afghanistan in 2003. It is well marked. Even if enemy were in there, it would require permission from the top - the very top - to authorize a strike on that building.
It was a terrible mistake to fire on that hospital, Taliban or not.
