My question is how many incidents has the TSA prevented, zero. I served my country for 24 years AD with T'S or higher clearance and for a major defense contractor for 22 years with a TS. Do I resent being questioned or patted down by Skippy the drop out, bet your ass.

Zero is right. They would be so hot to trot if they caught anyone that it would make page one for a week. My father, a federal agent and criminal investigator had one story he never changed. If more than two people know about something it will be blown sooner than later.

The question is moot. We don't live in "Mayberry" any longer, and never will. Anything less than what we endure now is not acceptable. Our enemies are EVERYWHERE and NOWHERE and are constantly revising their attack methods. I would rather go through security (and I do) than hear of an attack, or be a victim, or one of my children become victims of the bloodthirsty barbarians that are licking their chops as we speak.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - I will chime in on that one.. I hear you. Definitely. However, the nature of the dangers have changed since Mayberry AD.

PO3 John Wagner - I agree that the nature of the dangers has changed - but that doesn't change the level or probability of danger. It is, unquestionably safer in the United States than it has been in probably forever.

What we have now is the hyped up threat of terrorism which we spend billions and billions of dollars to fight, but isn't a significant threat to US security or people. More toddlers kill US citizens on accident every year than terrorist do. I don't see anyone spending billions of dollars to stop the toddler menace.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - Terrorists don't kill by accident unless they are careless with their explosives.

In a world that has masterfully sold fear...I have had more trouble getting back into America as an American than any place in the world...and when they want to check my shoes for explosives I am glad I have maintained my sense of humor as I do know they can make me miss my flight.

I had a TSA agent x-ray my laptop bag roughly a dozen times because he thought I had a Tradesman tool. I have no idea what that is or what it looks like but I had no such thing. Good thing I passed my departure time by an extra hour...
