Yep! I'm giving this spoiled, ignorant, disrespectful POS, Emma Becker, her two minutes of fame because I just cannot seem to maintain my anger.

1. WTH IS WRONG WITH OUR YOUTH?
2. WHAT THE HELL ARE HER PARENTS TEACHING HER?
3. With shit like this, I really think taking her little Twitter privileges away is a great start at punishment.

But I know! We protect her right to say something that's absolutely unforgivable. I'm not perfect...

UPDATE:
I'm getting asked "why are you spreading this or that," or actually being TOLD to stop... So here is my response to that!!!

I want this to follow her for the rest of her years. I want employers to look her up and see this. Do I want her on welfare? No, But I want her to know, like with so MANY others, that what you say CAN BE HELD AGAINST YOU!!!

UPDATE (2):
How many of us Killed every single day we were in the military? I know I have been asked if the military was just awful, people thinking we are always riding HUMVEES or shooting people, living in tents... Have y'all been to McDill AFB? That place is AWESOME! I always answered that it was probably the most fun and most thrilling job I had ever had WHILE DEPLOYED, other than that, it is like every other persons work day. So no, We dont "Literally" only get paid to kill people.

I mean this kind of stuff goes back to the Vietnam War and even before that. It's about damn time, I say, that we stand up for ourselves instead of turning the other cheek like we always do.

And heck yeah, I feel we are deserved some sort of respect. I don't ask for it tho, unless it is from my daughter. Those that think we shouldn't unless we were called up, I mean, seriously??? Whatever. If you feel we can be disrespected, not only as Service Members, but also as adults, well, that would explain your vote down and I have nothing for you.

At least she capitalized Marines. Now maybe she is using literally correctly instead of as "figuratively" and she is giving us a "Heroes' Welcome?" She did say Kill instead of Murder, which is rather nice, and it is great that she acknowledges that it is a team effort. I mean, I would like for the Marines to take all the credit, but seriously the USAF really does deserve a big portion of this, and heck the Army does the lion's share as well. The Marines just have Name Brand Recognition is all.

1. Our youth has been subject to bleeding heart liberals who believe everything should be given to kids and its not the kids fault they are the way they are. 2. Todays Parents dont have the time or want to take the time to raise kids properly, best just to give them what they want instead of having to listen to belly aching and whining all day, hence use a vice that shuts them up and gives peace of mind.3. After leaving the military. I started to reserve as a police officer. After a year of that I became a part-time to full-time as a police officer. Have been doing it now for about 15 years. I can say this out future is bleak. The millennials have no idea what the world is like. I was dealing with two 15 year old girls. The way they were talking about eachother. Made me blush. 1. Much like Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS I think she needs a lesson in the meaning of "literally" vs "figuratively."
2. This smacks of sour grapes. Some young Marine was mean to her, there was probably an attraction component one way or another or both that went south.
3. Her words, though apparently ignorant, do carry a literal truth. We are paid to kill people. This is a fact all too often minimized and ignored. As I've maintained elsewhere literally every function the military serves other than organized killing can be done by someone else. The media flips out when someone like Gen Mattis says (albeit out of context) "sometimes it's fun to kill people..." I want to ask society "what did you think you were paying us for?"
4. The military serves the wishes of the civilian policymakers, which are elected by the people. We kill who they want us to. If the people want their elected officials to direct less killing or the killing of different people in different places, it is the job of the people to force those officials to direct it. In the end, if you don't like what the military is doing, you better be writing letters, marching in the streets, fundraising for the opposition and making speeches daily. Otherwise you're just flapping your yap. Because a Marine was mean to you.

I got into a discussion with my wife one time, it got pretty heated.... one of the things that I told her was that a very dear friend of her family (infantry officer) was no different then a mercenary/killer. I then explained to her that as an infantry officer, he leads people to battle with a directive to eliminate the enemy, and he was being paid for it. The biggest difference is that his paycheck was coming from the government. She swallowed that one pretty hard, but upon further discussion, she realized that while what I said was overly harsh, that there was at least some truth to it..... once we got past that point, we were able to have a good discussion about it.

While this youngster is a nit wit, she is in a very broad sense, correct (minus the displaced anger at the Marines and all the troops). Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy.... what are we? We are the big stick, the enforcers for our government. If the government mission is to go out and eliminate the enemy, we are very effective at this. What do we do when not 'running amuck' in other countries 'killing people'?? we train. What do we train? Tactics to be more effective at what we do and minimize our losses.

MAYBE she will grow up a bit and realize that maybe she was overly critical.... Maybe she won't. BUT, as a military member, I take pride in defending her RIGHT to approve or disapprove and to vocalize her thoughts...as long as she can stand the heat that comes with it!!

Well the only way to respond to this, is in a civil manner since she's a young person with a rectal cranial inversion still. She does need to keep something in mind when she has to contact 911, when someone has a weapon on her Parents and her due to a home invasion.

First, I would like to say that anybody who wishes a life of welfare, or unemployment upon another American should probably quit holding themselves up as an example of the American ethic. We all say extremely stupid things when we are teenagers, and worse yet many of us continue this practice well into our adult life. I would say that the vast majority of posts by both veterans, and nonveterans about the United States military are positive whether they are initiated by conservative, liberal, black, white, gay, transgender, Christian, or atheist.

Further it is perfectly acceptable for the non-military American to criticize the military, after all their taxes go to pay for the military’s wages, housing, food, retirement, healthcare, and disability. As with any public institution the United States military should be perfectly open to public dissenting opinions, and should not become so melodramatic everytime somebody voices one. Also members of the military or that government institution should not take the opportunity to cyber bully them.

In fact this post only goes to simply say if you don’t like us, we don’t like you back. The way that veterans have been handling these things online is by either exactly mimicking the original behavior, or escalating the original behavior.

It disgusts me that we have citizens/civilians who ridicule the service that the members of the armed forces provide.
Not meaning to make light of such comments, but in the interest of not going on a rant I will just quote the words of Colonel Jessup played by Jack Nicholson in the movie A Few Good Men “I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. This almost seems too absurd to provide comment on, but I'll second what I've seen many members theorize...she's been "burned". The notion that warriors are not always the best at being stable romantic partners is as old as warfare itself...as is the associated reciprocity. In a broader sense though, this inane comment reveals a larger misconception...and insult all too common in a society that has benefited from the protection of the world's most powerful military. This young "lady" has no concept of what it was like to be a Jewish girl in Poland during WWII, a Chinese woman in Nanking, or a South-Vietnamese civilian...let alone a Kurd or Christian woman in parts of the Middle East today. I will take issue with the assertion made by at least one officer here that there is little to no difference between professional soldiers and paid assassins...there are OCEANS of difference Sir! A paid assassin kills without bias for the sake of pay...a professional solider (to include all service members engaging in direct combat) uses lethal force to enact national policy. When that policy is conquest, subjugation and genocide, we call that side "the bad guys"...when that policy is liberation, protection, and peace...we call those warriors "the good guys".

I like to think we've mostly been the Good Guys and always will be.

Has no clue as to how important our military is in a world where our enemies would love nothing more than to overrun us and take our way of life. Obviously has no concept of serving anything higher than herself, and she's not alone. The "selfie" generation is really going to struggle as they age into adulthood. Everything has been provided to them by parents who have instilled no traditional values. Does she have the right to say that? Absolutely; she is entitled to that view. As a Marine, I know that is our job- anyone serving is either a) killing people or b) supporting the ones killing people. I don't care if your job in the Army is "tactical radio DJ", your prerogative is building the morale of the guys killing people. She is 100% correct on that one, and I not only agree that we kill people, I'm also damn proud of the fact that we do what we do, upholding traditions and representing the world's elite, while doing a whole bunch of good, killing bad guys and winning the hearts and minds. Wow! One day she will grow up and realize that the military is not as she thinks it is. My brother had a similar attitude during Vietnam era. Then he got hired by a Japanese firm and spent 6 months in Japan. When he came back his whole attitude changed. He was too old by then to join the military but he finally understood what we are fighting for. Some day this young lady will have a rude awakening and will realize what she "tweeted" was insensitive and that this country is worth "killing" for.

This wretched creature is a result of the "progress" made within the public school system. Which is, coincidentally, controlled by the very left leaning democrats.

- In many public schools kids now a days are being lied to about the Constitutional Amendments and the history of our nation.
- In many public schools they're taught to be ashamed of our nation and those who protect it.
- Any coincidence that the Pledge of Allegiance has been removed in all public schools?
- Any coincidence that many high school graduates need to take remedial math and comprehension courses just to qualify for gen ed college courses?
- Any coincidence that according to PISA, in 2000 the US ranked 14th (Science) and 18th (Math) globally, and as of 2012 ranks 34th in both categories?
- Any coincidence that many graduates of public high school can't name the 1st President of the US, don't know this nation's history, and have no knowledge of or care for the Constitution?
- Any coincidence that cursive writing is no longer taught in schools? Wouldn't want a student to be able to read our nation's Constitution as it was written by the Founders would we...?

Read Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. It's an absolute "how to" manual on being a liberal. Then check into former Weather Underground founder Bill Ayers. That pig. Only person I've ever heard of that can form a domestic terrorist organization that KILLED PEOPLE and not only never serve a day in jail for it, but end up spending 20+ years as a professor at University of Illinois at Chicago.

I saw this on twitter and thought she was a grudge kid who had been turned down or burned by a Marine. Everyone gets burned, suck it up was my reaction. Then I realized I have grandchildren her age and I am of a completely different generation, had to work from the time i was able to, and the whole nine yards. I made my own clothes, bought the fabric from baby-sitting money before I had a "real" job that paid min. wage of $.85 an hour in a nursing home. Not complaining nor bragging, just sayin...so I look at things differently. Kids worked, too, in HS.

This kid should be looking at herself. Parents often don't do too much teaching, I have found. Those parents who try are often over ridden by peers who have parents who don't give a flying pig what their kids are doing or thinking. I think it is difficult to parent in any time..my father took the pistol belt to get our attention, as he put it. That is uncalled for...thank the Greatest Generation for starting to screw up the head and lay the ground work for my generations PTSD...I have studied PTSD, when one has it one studies it, or at least I did, because I worked with others who have it. Experiences in the military made it worse.

So, we can't really blame the parents for this tootsies remarks. She made them, has no clue about what she said about the Veteran Posse of the US, especially the Marines who have a Posse of their own. Hope she learns a bit about what she said, realizes she should not makes such a hurting statement in a heated moment...we stick together, she has only herself.

Maybe this kid/girl doesn't have parents who care for her. Maybe she's from a broken home where one of the parents is gone all the time. Maybe her parents hide in a bottle of booze or do drugs. Maybe she's a military brat who doesn't have anyone to confide in and uses this venting hatred to get kids to like her. I think that if a female soldier, sailor, or airman were to sincerely reach out to her then just maybe she could be helped. There is ALWAYS another view of the story. Just my thoughts.

It is foolish to fight someone because you might disagree with what they say. You say you personally defend her right to hold her views, and then you "want her to know, like with so MANY others, that what you say CAN BE HELD AGAINST YOU!!!" You're not a judge, not a cop; you're just another expendable, replaceable citizen that is important to a handful of people in your life. Neither your merit nor actions ever gave you that kind of right over our free citizens.

You are sounding just as big of a brat as the very person you are scrutinizing. And it makes the rest of us veterans look like a bunch of immature and whiny teenagers.
Why do you feel you deserve respect? Because you are in the military? I don't think anyone deserves respect because of status, i.e. military affiliation or seniority, because I've seen firsthand what kind of BS propagates from that line of thinking, or lack thereof.

Literally ALL our troops. At just over 2.1 million including reserve components, she will be a busy girl. Assuming no sexual preference, and assuming military planning and Navy-shower efficiency, I'd place her maximum sustainable effort at 14 hours per day and 10 troops per hour. She's young. Even with no sick days or holidays, that's a measly 51,100 per year. It would take her over 41 years at max effort, or over 52 years if she reduced her daily effort gradually to only 8 hours by the time she reached 72. She better get moving, so to speak.

Well, Marines always go first. That being said it is insulting and I'd like to see her say that while residing in another country.
