Were you proud of who you were in civilian life? Are you proud of who you are in the military?

Proud of both and I would do it all over again with some minor changes. That old saying is so true, "if I only knew then what I know now".

Yes, PO2 Kayla Modschiedler. Boot Camp is all about Debratifying (LOL); is it not; Kayla.
Combat is not something that one plays around with.
I wonder why your brother never served; if he was so jealous. (I am not quite sure about your brother: whether he served or not...) And yet he sent his own son...

He never served he ALMOST went in to the Army recruiter's office, I wish he would have signed up with them. It would have done good for him. We always have told him that no matter who he is or what he's done (he got a full ride scholarship rescinded for drugs) we always love him. But it goes right over his head, it's really heartbreaking for the whole family because my nephew and I have mostly cut him off because he's just a toxic person. He actually tried to get into a fight with me at his son's birthday party/graduate from boot camp party. My mom practically cut him off after that. It was really sad, I cried all the way home because I had just gotten out and just really wanted to spend time with my family. I hope that never happens to anyone, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I was and am very proud of who I was in the military.
Before that, I was homeless. Enough said.

I am satisfied with my civilian life, but I was (and am) proud of my time in the military.
