What advice can you provide on how to write an RE Code 2B waiver request to re-enlist? What supporting documents might go with the request? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-advice-can-you-provide-on-how-to-write-an-re-code-2b-waiver-request-to-re-enlist-what-supporting-documents-might-go-with-the-request <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Prior service Airman wanting to re-enlist in the army. I was discharged 3 years into my enlistment for a minor disciplinary infraction where I lost my military bearing with instructor who brought up some personal stuff in my life repeatedly and was given an under honorable conditions discharge. This was 2 years ago. I made a mistake, I learned from it and grew a lot as a man and as someone who wants to continue serving. Talked it through with a recruiter and he determined through my documentation that it was blown out of proportions and is backing me in the continuation of the process. He has me set to write a request for a service secretary waiver basically asking to re-enlist in the military. Can anyone offer some advice on how to write such a request and what supporting documents might go along with such a request as well? I’ve never been a good writer. I want to be as honest and forthcoming as possible without completely ruining my chances. Thanks for your time. The Table says no waiver.<br /><br />Show that you learned from it. What have you accomplished? What have you done to mature, perhaps some expansion on that growth LTC Jason Mackay Fri, 10 Apr 2020 19:14:22 -0400 2020-04-10T19:14:22-04:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 10 at 2020 9:33 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-advice-can-you-provide-on-how-to-write-an-re-code-2b-waiver-request-to-re-enlist-what-supporting-documents-might-go-with-the-request?n=5762392&urlhash=5762392 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>1 disciplinary incident does not normally result in a discharge, a pattern of misconduct does however. If you were unable to maintain your military bearing and you did not seek the proper help from your chain, then you were asking for what you got. Unfortunately, these waivers are hard to get, not impossible, but very hard given that it’s not easy to express in words that what you did won’t happen again. When writing the waiver you will need to be more honest with yourself than you are with us. Ensure you own your mistake and explain how humble you have become, and your extreme desire to serve your country. This time in a manner that befits the uniform.
