I would also add, "remember (1) it is not about about you," it is about your organization, and your troopers. (2) Model, by personal example, a balanced lifestyle, because we want troops to know our families matter too. (3) Walk the walk, don't just talk the talk - so, lead by personal example. Troops pay attention to what you do, not just what you say. (4) Keep it simple, and focus on making a difference everyday, and on leaving the organization better you found it. Thanks Tony! A racehorse needs a jockey, but don't ride it into the ground or treat it poorly. Don't let it get fat, but keep it race ready and don't break it. When the jockey is gone, the unit is still there waiting for the next jockey.
