She has 14 years in both the USMC and Army guard and was a personal trainer so she does what she can within the scope of her profile. 3 months ago she was diagnosed with hypothyroid as well explaining the drastic weight gain.(We were baffled she was eating 1200 cals a day clean and working out what she could and weight kept coming and it wasnt like she was even close to overweight she gained 60 lbs in 5 months. We also recently had a miscarriage and are undergoing fertility treatments to help us have her 1st biological child. Her unit weighed and taped her and slapped an administrative flag on her and have been treating her like a bag of ass and its severely demoralizing her to the point she is in tears after coming home from drill. She was an exemplary Marine and Soldier until her CoC lost its damn mind and started treating her like it was her fault she almost died and now has permanent injuries. We have given them thousands of pages of medical records and showing everything from permanent deformities to brain scans confirming a TBI and diagnosed severe PTSD from her motor vehicle collision and they treat her like a bullshit artist malingerer! On top of this they are dragging ass on the MEB and refusing to transfer her to a med hold unit at her HOR, instead making her drive almost 300 miles to drill(an all day terror feat for her PTSD). What can we do? The one time she went to IG she was penalized for it so thats out. Her CoC is hostile at least up to company level and the Battalion seems to just have deaf ears. Is there any recourse or any reg we can use to help? The flag seems to be more of a punitive action than admin and it seems they are focusing more on this than working with her to process the MEB. Sorry too much for details section. I need to vent to someone too as I have severe combat connected PTSD and anxiety issues. There is a lot going on. I am not understanding how she is being harassed and don't know what she can and cant do. Has she talked with her medical officer for help/guidance. Would it be possible for you to drive her to drill weekend. There is not much that an over weight flag can do if she is already going threw a MEB I understand that can be frustrating but should not have much teeth. The best thing that you can do is support her and stand with her threw this process. This is a complicated issue. I would suggest talking to a medical officer. Also if the problem persists, I would recommend that she tell her supervisors that she intends to use the Battalion Commanders open door policy and explain her situation directly. If inaction or even reprisals happen, then I would talk to IG and eventually write a congressman. I can give little useful advice as I am not totally aware of the situation. All I can suggest is fully utilizing the appropriate channels. Also, if she does plan to use the open door policy, she really needs to inform her supervisor as failing to do so can make a situation worse for her. I'm asking for help and guidance so we can do things the right way and take care of things in an ethically and morally correct way within the regulations. Many of you have that knowledge on hand as you are still in or recently separated or are in a position to know these things. My time in ended over a decade ago so my info is mostly out of date; however I'm pretty sure what is being done to my wife is wrong. The way she has been treated is wrong. I'm sure regulations have been violated; however as evidenced by past issues solving this thing at company and battalion level seems impossible, going to assigned IG also seems to get flipped on its ear as well. I mean I don't know what should be the next level! Should we write the adjutant general? The governors office? File an Art 134? I mean all of that seems extreme to me, but what other options are there?
