What advice do you have for someone working to submit a WOFT packet after receiving a DWI while on AD? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-advice-do-you-have-for-someone-working-to-submit-a-woft-packet-after-receiving-a-dwi-while-on-ad

Hello!
I’m currently working on submitting my WOFT packet for the national guard. Unfortunately I got my first DWI when I was still active duty. I’m glad no one got hurt and I was also able to get it dismissed. I did my phase 1 & 2 a few months ago, I had to get LASIK. But because of it I’m assuming I’m pretty much at the mercy of the flight doctor in charge of approving my phase 2 packet. I’m working on getting letter of recommendations from the chain of command I used to work with. I’m curious to know if anyone has been able to get past this hurdle or have any recommendations? Thank you very much for your time and response I greatly appreciate it. I do WO/OCS packets for the USAR, submit your RFW and let the board say no. On your request for waiver, own up to your DUI and take responsibility for it, explain how you have learned from your mistake. You will need all the court documents as well. Your Cdrs letter needs to be a strong recommendation. As for the Lasik, you will need all medical docs from before the operation until after. Good luck, if you need anything please PM me. Submit your packet and let the system work. Regarding LASIK, don’t sweat it, is extremely waiverable !
