What advice do you have regarding how to contact CW4s and CW5s for a WOFT packet? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-advice-do-you-have-regarding-how-to-contact-cw4s-and-cw5s-for-a-woft-packet

So I talked to another guy because my previous recruiter tried to get me into enlisting.

He told me that he will help me do it, and we can finish it in like 3 months, I thought it would take like 9 months but I guess if I work hard on it we can finish it.

He also told me that CW4s and CW5s are like the untouchables of the army, and that I should get recommendations from them. Any advice on how I can reach out to those folks?

Thanks! Rally Point has provided many located around the world and in different services with no way to contact an Army CW4/5 for LORs and packet reviews. There are plenty here and then there are those who will assist in getting you a more local interview if possible. Street to seat applicants have been streamlined and it doesn't take as long to do the packets anymore due to the primary board being eliminated and the packet now going straight to USAREC for processing without a panel interview. Ask anything, I will see if I can assist. CW5 Sam R. Once I met one I realized how wrong I was. WOs are well aware that potential candidates need recommendations, and in my experience they were all more than willing to sit down for an interview to get a grasp on your character and future potential. The aviators I met with took me in as one of their own and they all helped me with my packet on top of writing me a LOR.

Its good that you know what you want and that you are sticking to your guns - just remember that everyone in the Army has an opinion about something, and if they don't have a significant amount of experience on the topic you should take their advice and heed it when necessary, but don't allow it to influence your pursuit of your own personal and career goals. Good luck! Contact them. Explain that you are putting together your packet and need to be interviewed/counseled by an Aviation Senior Warrant Officer. You should be talking to a CW4 or CW5. This individual will make time for you, it’s part of the job. Unless things have changed recently, a recommendation memo is a required enclosure.

Be prepared to spend some time, perhaps an entire day shadowing this person and talking. They have probably never met you and you are asking them to put in writing that they have spoken with you, possibly checked up on you, and are recommending you for acceptance. I would recommend writing a request (short one) that describes who you are, what your goals are, and how you feel your leadership would benefit the Warrant Officer Corps. Find the email address for the Bde CW5 and Avn Bn CW4’s and email them with subject “Request Flight Packet Senior Warrant Officer Interview”. Give it a week and follow up by phone.
