My wife and I have been in Hawaii for 3 years now. I just received orders to a ship out of Hawaii, and thus my wife and I will be here for an additional 3 years. We have been renting while I got out of debt. I am now debt free and looking to purchase my first home. What advice would you give a first time buyer?

Being in the military, or being a veteran, offers some very unique advantages when it comes to home buying. What would be your best piece of advice for a first time buyer?

1sr Step: Getting fully approved for a loan and I usually recommend clients talk to at least 2 loan officers to compare their fees and whether their are available for you not just 9-5:00 but also weekends. I also agree that go with your comfort zone when getting qualified. 2nd: Interview a couple of Buyer Agents who are very familiar with VA loans and Military Relocation, as I am also a Military Spouse and Military Relocation Professional with Rose and Womble Realty in the Hampton Roads Area. 3rd. is the fun part looking at homes that your criterias on your "wants and needs" list. I have my clients write these down so as we look at properties we go back to their list to determine what they can and cannot do without..It's a great start for first time buyers..Thank you for your service and sacrifice so we may enjoy our Freedom.
