It allows other members to learn about you and to hopefully better understand where you are coming from in the forums.<br /><br />Employers that use this as a way to reach possible candidates for a job, can also see your background to help better understand both your hard and soft skills. <br /><br />RallyPoint provides users that take the time to complete their profile with a chance to earn the Blue Ribbon which is RP&#39;s way of saying thank you for the time and effort taken to complete the profile. It boils down to your objectives. Do you want your profile viewed for employment purposes, for more contacts, for job opportunities then fill it out but if your just on RP to join in on conversation or just merely read that could be a reason not to complete it. My last point would also be that many people today are paranoid of providing to much of their own information. Good question glad to be a part of it. I do that via word of mouth, and if RallyPoint want's me to do it in other ways, I'll send them a contract so they can pay me for my marketing. <br /><br />I am a Marketing Professional on the civilian side, and I don't market for free if possible. I personally am a open networker so I accept all invites and if there are issues after I connect I address it. <br /><br />As a fortune 500 military recruiter I need to connect with other and expand my network. <br /><br />I also have an opportunity to provide professional feedback that could help someone that may not know the value of a topic.
