What are decent places for a family to live around fort hood?

I have been told numerous times that the crime is pretty bad in and outside Fort Hood and a good place to look at would be the Belton area. Having a family, I'd rather keep my family in a decent area obviously. Please do not comment " there's crime everywhere". this is obvious and the point is not to find a crime-free zone, but an area that is safer.

I live inCopperas Cove cove, there is a very nice community called hearthwood park. It’s a nice neighborhood with an elementary and middle school inside the neighborhood.

We have lived in cove and finally took ourselves to Temple. So much better!!

There are some nicer areas that are technically in Killeen... south of 190 out towards the airport is nice and newer. Especially if yo unwind yo working on WFH. Belton and Cove are nice but there are some, well shadier areas there too. Your commute is going to suck if you work on one side and have to come from the complete opposite side.

I was at Ft. Hood last year, a popular RD that a lot of us lived off of was Stan Schlueter. Rent was semi- cheaper, and close enough to post to be able to go home at lunch if need be. I had zero issues with crime.

I live in Gatesville on the northern edge of ft hood lived here since 92 love it smaller town but I've never had a problem out here

Check out Cove.
My wife and I live in copperas Cove and it ain’t bad, my road is pretty quiet and price for rent isn’t bad

Anywhere but Killeen. If you don't mind the drive, I recommend Belton or Temple.
