What are DOD FM Certifications for the 36B MOS?

I have completed my MOS reclass school and have been Q’d. Now I’m told that I have a year to something called DOD FM Certifications to keep the MOS. What are those, and what do they consist of?

SSG Private RallyPoint Member not only is it a requirement for 36Bs, it's also a requirement for DoD civilians that work in Finance. The certification is issued by DoD and the level depends on your rank. As a SGT, you're required to meet and maintain level 2. The good thing is that courses like FM AIT, ALC, and SLC take care of 98% of the requirement. All you need to do is a few classes on ethics and audit readiness and you'll be good to go. Your unit should have a FM Cert POC who manages the program. They can create your profile and get you started. Hope this helps.

Your unit will keep you squared away, I was 44C/36B, I had a great chain of command that. Material was pretty dry from what I remember, but not difficult.
