Oh my gosh! There are a TON! When I was creating a class on veteran recruitment for recruiters, I found so many resources online. Off the top of my head, I actually remember that AT&T offers work from home jobs for military spouses. I'll see if I can find more resources for you.

I am a great employment resource if you or your spouse would like to work at the University of Iowa!
However, if that is not in the cards, here are some other resources.
Hiring Our Heroes has resources for spouses I know they just had a job fair this past week for military spouses.

I just checks and they do have a section for military spouses.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member First, you are on a great resource right now. Spend some time searching for RP members using key words in an industry you want to get into or locations in areas you want to live. There is not better advocate than another veteran. Reaching out to vets has been very helpful for me as I transition. Just send a connection request and ask questions, you'll be surprised how many people will take the time to speak with you. You can work with a company like http://workscouts.com/ to try and find a good job using some of the criteria you develop. Also, you can work with a mentor to help by using a company like: https://www.veterati.com/. There are a lot of free resources to help with transition, don't plan in a bubble.

Start with the Internet to research possible job site backgrounds, because the more you know about a potential employer the better you can fine tune your resume.

My personal pick...networking is King.
Search the meetup groups around your location and if you find they are there to help one another and they are not there to recruit for their "down-line", then this could be a great source for employment opportunities for military spouses and veterans alike.

Make sure the spouse applies for the Military Spousal Preference for Government jobs. Lots of links on the web to show how that's done. We've hired a number of them for term positions knowing they mostly hang around 2-3 years. If it's a twilight tour, then a permanent position is typically more desired. That said, don't shy away from terms as management tends to figure a way to keep good people around.
