Drill, keeping weapons and gear clean and maintained, etc. A soldier should also strive to be the best that they can at their MOS. They should study changes that are being made in their field so that they maintain that proficiency. A soldier should closely listen to and observe their NCO's, SNCO's and officers to pick up pointers on being a good soldier. As a new soldier get you SSD s done and out of the way. Get on jagcnet and see what you can learn because as a paralegal you won't know anything that you use in big army. What you learn in AIT is a foundation but never using it. Look up as many regs as you can. Be proficient with the ne da pam for transgender policies. That's big right now. There are a lot to do just look. And ask around. If you don't have any college yet, start taking classes it will help you out later when you want to get promoted. Also, listen to your NCOs and when they council you try to explain to them what some of your goals are so they can help you achieve them. As a young enlisted person start developing your leadership style. You're never too young to seek out more responsibilities and demonstrate that you have potential to lead and perform above your paygrade. Having a wide range of knowledge and abilities will also make you valuable to your unit. Cpl Ray Fernandez Mon, 29 May 2017 01:06:52 -0400 2017-05-29T01:06:52-04:00 2016-12-11T11:30:32-05:00
