Going to the promotion board in May. I hit my 3 year mark in October. Can I get a waiver? I know it says I need 4 years TIS.

Everyone is saying I would get picked up for recruiting school quick because the Army is in need of recruiters.

Actually, they are not. The recruiting push was due to the Secretary of the Army saying they would fill recruiting 100% by 15 Jan. They waived time on station down to a year and were taking E5s. That push is over and you can expect branch managers to go back to normal business rules. The next push is now Drill Sergeants.
Also, you won't find out your recruiting station till you're in school. Going home is very unlikely. Not impossible, just improbable enough not to bet on.

Once you are promotable, update your Assignment Satisfaction Key as a volunteer recruiter and talk to your branch manager. I HIGHLY encourage you to complete any KD time before going to recruiting as it can put a hold on your career (unless you stay in USAREC).

My plan was to ETS in October 2020.. If I can get recruiting and my HOR is the duty station, I’ll be fine with that. Then I’ll Ets after my recruiting assignment. It would be a smooth transition for me.

SPC (Join to see) Once you are promoted to E5, go to https://recruiting.army.mil/recruiter/volunteer_recruiters/ and look into submitting the volunteer packet.

You can request the Recruiting BN that your HOR is in, when you are eligible.
