MSG Private RallyPoint Member 7143314

I have orders for retirement on 1Sept. They are only letting me sell back 15 days of leave because I have already sold 45 days in the past. This leaves me with 32 days of leave that I guess gets poofed. is there any way where I can just push my orders back to 1Oct so I don't lose out on the money I deserved? I think I already know the answer to this question, but I figured I would ask to see if anyone has something I can use. What are my options if I have more leave days than I can take and/or sell before retirement? 2021-07-29T16:14:01-04:00 MSG Private RallyPoint Member 7143314

I have orders for retirement on 1Sept. There's no need to sell back any leave since you'll only receive base pay minus 22% for federal income tax.

The law is you can only sell 60 days of leave over your whole career. Leave is meant to be paid time off, you're not losing any money by taking it.

Retirement is always the last day of the month. Your last day of service is always the end of the month and your first day of retirement is always the first day of the following month. You can always adjust your retirement date by submitting to HRC, as long as you aren't at RCP, but you are cutting it very, very close. If you want to push your time back talk to admin and see if there is enough time to make changes. But if you can't take the leave, can't sell the leave and can't push the date there is the chance you may loose a few days to the system. Why will they only let you sell back 15 days and lose the rest? Most people just take leave and use up their days I would think, but we used to sell back 40, 50, 60 days no problem before the use it or lose it began.
. This way you are getting BAH, BAS, and additional leave during that time frame. Otherwise you are leaving money on the table.
