Your UA is responsible for the paper work, there needs to be a DA4187, DA 4651, and a DA 4856 from your commander. You also need your current DD4 packet and any DD214/215 you have. Then the action gets submitted into ePAT if you have other questions give me a message. Option 1 is to continue to drill until your contract expires. Option 2 submit a 4187 requesting transfer to the IRR through your Battalion. Option 3 is, if you are in your reenlistment window, reenlist for the IRR. Option 1 doesn't require much explanation. Option 2 can, as you have experienced, take a long time depending on your chain of command. Option 3 will take 10 days if you reenlist for the IRR. It by passes your chain of command and goes directly to your RSC. You will have orders to the IRR very rapidly. You can only reenlist for the IRR for 3 years, but you do still get to carry a military ID and have access to your local military base commissary, Class 6, and PX for the entire time you are in the IRR.
