As for just calling and deleting your orders, it doesn't work that way. You need to see your S1 section to see what may constitute a em reason for deletion.

You are in a low density specialty as well, making things more difficult. I said 'normal' as there are MOSes you can transfer into regardless what the In/Out message says.

For Example, in your specific case, you can request to reclassify into CMF 18, or MOS 12P, 17C, 17E, 25D, 25E, 35L, 37F, 38B, 79S and 89D. See the In/Out message or discuss with your retention NCO for other opportunities. note: almost all MOSes that you can transfer into regardless of In/Out call status, usually have additional requirements and/or are an application MOSes (you have to submit a packet and be approved to transfer in). Your Career Counselor will be able to give you the exact information, but if you want to get a better idea of the MOSes listed above, you can go here*.

You'll also want to look at the latest Special MOS Alignment Promotion Program (SMAPP)* message (MOSes which the Army views as critically short so they give you a promotion if you transfer into them if you meet the TIG/TIS requirements for the next grade). There are a few of MOSes (25D, 25E, and 51C) which could be a fast-track for you to SSG if you are accepted to transfer into them.

As for your assignment orders, the same Career Counselor you talk to about reclassification is the same one that would process a deletion through the RETAIN system up to HRC for approval. So go talk to them!
------------------------------------------
* MILPER 23-033 (latest In/Out message) - https://www.hrc.army.mil/milper/23-033
* MILPER 23-260 (latest SMAPP message) - https://www.hrc.army.mil/milper/23-260
* More MOS details - https://armyreenlistment.com/site/reclassification/

An besides Ft Irwin isn't as bad as all your buddies are telling you. It's 30 miles for nowhere the closest S__itH_le is Barstow, and if your looking to further your education that's the place to do it no distractions. I was stationed there twice the weather's great I loved the desert heat, quad riding, dune buggy's wherever you pretty much want. Vegas is 2 hours away hit it big an tell uncle Sam where to go. So suck it up buttercupResponse by SGT Lonnie Woods made Oct 9 at 2023 3:03 PM2023-10-09T15:03:03-04:002023-10-09T15:03:03-04:002023-08-23T07:07:29-04:00
