What are preferable Reserve units in Hawaii to apply to as a 2LT in the MSC?

What are preferable units to apply to as a 2LT in the MSC in Hawaii?? Can anyone shed some light on what responsibilities there would be/ how the units operate? Also are MSC reservists able to work in the hospital?? Thank you

Cadet LTC Private RallyPoint Member sur what is it you choose to as branch. That's where you start dont concern yourself too much with the unit we have alot. Infantry we got 100/442 INF BTN we also have 411 Eng BTN, Civil Affairs, 740th Maintenance BTN. what is you want to do in the Army Reserves

My recommendation is to go to Tripler Website for an answer. However wait until after the Hurricane hits as Tripkee will be very busy. The website is ~~~

Would also recommend contacting PMO at HRC. If you are not OBC and Branch qualified dont bother. Get the tng/schooling completed first.

I am in the same shoes as you as well! I know there is the 1984th USAH at tripler army medical center, but I believe they are over strength as well. You can try the HIARNG, but being in the guard myself I was told from the OSM that it is also over strength as well. Maybe you can try branch detail? When is your commission date?

You have a Major HQs in Oahu also 442 Infantry. Would recommend that you go to the units on a drill weekend, talk to Members early and make appt with unit commander. The rest is up to you to sell yourself. If you are DMISQ you have a good chance of being accepted. Ifnit you MUST commit to training to make you a DMOSQ asset to the unit. You can try go for HIARNG but right now they are full on MSC, I know this because I am a SMP cadet in the Hawaii Guard. As for reserves, it might be kind of complicated and we are both on the same boat as I look into transferring back to Hawaii after I graduate.

There is the 1984 USARH. You can also try the 9th MSC they may have some 70B slots opened.

There is a MBB medical backfill battalion however the DHA MEDCOM Restructure will probably phase that out which may effect the TPU manning roster slots . They may take you in the unit but might not be a promotable or AOC specific slot. FT Shafter reserve center just a stone throw from Tripler . My info is the freshest from Capt Career Course 2019. I don’t k ow what the NG Hawaii offers.
