There are good reasons why SFC's get tapped for some specific and painfully difficult details, and your certainly not ready for those details. Read your unit policy letters and additional duties requirements. Ask your S3 NCO for a list of tasking duty NCO requirements. You'll learn something. Then volunteer. It was a great experience because it allowed me to be responsible and gave me direct access to everyone within my battalion. Didn't matter what thier rank. From enlisted to officers. If a flight officer had to go to S.E.R.E. school, I was directly responsible for sending them thier. (Ever here of an officer try to bribe a LCPL not to go to S.E.R.E. School?) All pilots must go and complete the school if they wish to continue to fly. All I would say is, if you wish to make the military a career, don't listen to the norm. Volenteer for everything.
