What was different specifically? What was the topic? What are some examples of good Distance Learning Products? 2016-01-20T20:26:28-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 1248751 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Most agree that the Army's take on distance learning is not effective; what are some examples of effective distance learning/online courses that you may have come across in the civilian sector? When I'm not in school, I'll take courses on edX, Coursera, CodeAcademy, and a few others. I'll also look for interesting ways to improve my blog with webinars and how-to videos. I believe that if we are going to continue with distance learning in the Army, it should be set up in blackboard format. Classes that a Soldier can fly through and never truly learn from will continue to be ineffective, blackboard format would provide more accountability for the content that we are supposed to be learning and having that interaction with an instructor and fellow students is always helpful. Go to SFL-TAP center and see what is current in today's market. Almost all their offered courses are funded through TA while on active duty. This is what employers want !!! they don't care what you did while you were in.... seriously !! Don't waste your time on Army school stuff that isn't applicable, or hold any value outside of the ARMY. Stay focused long-term and not what you can get now. Get a Bachelors degree at a minimum while in or your wasting a golden opportunity.
