What are some good MCIs to do as a Lance Corporal?

I am a lance Corporal 6113 going to 6173 school and i need some good MCI’s any recommendations are welcome

Easy ones were the educational basics, math and spelling. But it has been a few decades since I did an MCI.

I note that you are an airedale.

1)_Take three MCI's in your MOS/aviation field

2)_Then take one basic education MCI if you have a weakness, No matter how good you are at English and writing, assume that you have a weakness.

3)_Then take one ground combat MOS MCI,

4)_Then take one combat service support MOS MCI,

5)_Then take one MCI for the next billet you want. If it isn't apparent, ask the current billet holder what he/she recommends. I wanted the 81mm Mortars platoon. But never took any mortar related MCI's. The Battalion CO gave 81's to the 1stLt that had completed every mortar related MCI. You don't have to tell me twice, I started taking every Surveillance and Target Acquisition Platoon related MCI and Intel related MCI. It worked.

Don't know if they still have it or if it has rank restrictions, but Warfighting is good and if you get really ambitious Amphib Warfare. Both come with a stack of several books (sub courses). You'll learn a lot and if you stick around you'll be way ahead of the power curve, because they "were" required for Company Grade O's and it will show great initiative on your part.

Have you checked your MOS roadmap? Available through TECOM, it will provide a list of DL or Distance Learning courses for your MOS.

Honestly, I'd grab every basic MCI available and of course the MCI in the scope of your MOS. Most of the MCI course I taken counted towards college credits.

Greetings devil dog! As a young Marine I was informed many years ago not anything having to do with terrorism and counter-terrorism would lead the way as far as consideration by those in command for meritorious promotion. They were right then and I think I'm right now by stating we have not seen a decline in terrorism but an increase. I would recommend the same field of study regarding terrorism and counter-terrorism, and I might throw in one more thing and that would be Insurgency and counterinsurgency. For any forward operating Marine you want to know what you're getting yourself into as far as culture of the land you will be possessing. You will also want to know what their belief structures are about in the United States and in particular how they feel about u.s. Marines. some locations can be hostile tore our Warrior ethos and set up Small Arms attacks by way of snipers or IEDs. I think it's just better to be informed on the issue and to be surprised by it. I salute you in man on your continuing education in the Marine Corps Institute. Semper Fi.

Go to Marine net and search "2nd echeleon" maintanence, motor t's mcis (mk something), there easy and click through so you can get 100 points towards your composite score and require no proctor code, mos wise talk to your SSGT or NCO. You have to do atleast 7. Mos roadmap helps to. Good luck brother

Take the MK series MCI's, if you search MK23 in marinenet there's like 11 classes you can take, only need 7 of them for your 100 education points. None of them have a test at the end either

If you haven't already done leading marines get on that and then get online cpls course knocked out so you can pick it will also add to your cutting score whenever you start to rate one

Get Corporals course done (online PME) and do MK classes they have about 15 education points for most and they are just click throughs

Do all of the MCIs in the MOS roadmap on MarineNet. It looks really good on boards. Better than doing the weapons systems. Especially in a 6 series MOS.

If you haven't already then leading marines is a must. And then math or grammar for marines is good. And then your most read map things. And dont forget to read books and do a book report.

Do as many as you can in as many areas as you can. Focus on Leadership Marine NCO,. All points count in your promotion score, or least they use to . Find Mad Dogs Marine reading list...Read. intake as much info as you can when ever you can. You never know when that one piece of information will save your ass in a tough spot.
