What are some good side classes/workshops to update my military resume and to become a decent leader?

I'm trying to update my military resume and do as much as i can and learn as much as i can. Help?

If you are referencing military schools, as a young Soldier you should ask for as many as you can get. A few good ones would be Combat LifeSaver, Unit Armorer, Combatives Level 1, and Drivers Training as these have no rank requirements. You should also volunteer for additional duties within your unit - examples are unit BOSS representative or Platoon alternate key control.

If you are speaking on non-military opportunities, start college as soon as you can as this will expand your knowledge base and potentially fast track your career.

I would love to have a soldier like you lol. Leadership wise? Improve PT as much as possible, If you become a leader and your soldiers are struggling with PT, how can you tell them to fix it if you cant fix yourself. Leadership is a lot about setting the example and enforcing it. Depending on your MOS you can take Certification classes, correspondence courses (online), and just like SFC Dejesus said take the Military provided classes, CLS, Combatives, are all very good. Start studying for soldier of the month boards, attend a few and compete, prepare for the promotion boards and study all relevant material. Build confidence in yourself, and maybe most importantly find a solid NCO to be your mentor and learn from him/her. Sometimes a good leader isn't always good. You can learn a lot from a toxic leader: What not to be. I don't say that to insinuate you or any other should be a bad NCO, but they are out there. I've had a few and I learned a lot from them. The best NCOs will push you along and mentor you even when you don't realize they are.
