What are some of the available resources and key aspects you should know before becoming a TPU/Army Reserve soldier in Germany?

Contact the 7th Civil Support Command. They are the one-star HQs that commands all USAR units in Germany. A lot of Soldiers in the 7th work in a civilian capacity with the unit or their higher HQs, the 21st TSC, also located in Ktown. There may also be opportunities for civil service jobs in Grafenwhor.

Thank you Sir! Doesn't sound too impossible to work out there as long as you have the right resources. I will definitely be contacting them! Thank you again!

Contact my FORSCOM WIAS team, on the milSuite.mil community forum that is linked at the end of this article. There is a need for AG/HR officers in the EUCOM AOR, which could help you network for your future GS position... https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/currently-serving-army-reserve-component-soldiers-eng-cissp-sphr/

USAR benifits - there aren't many (in Germany), only suppose to use base privileges (pic/commissary) while on duty (due to customs agreement) but if you find a way to live there you will get a ration card for tobacco, coffee, gas, and alcohol. TPU status does not give to visa rights to live in country. Start applying now on USAJOBS for employment, but it is very hard to get hired. Housing is whatever you can find and afford. There are some Soldiers that fly in (MAC flights) for drill weekends. Good luck
