But I would like to hear from our Senior NCOs and Officers on what key positions or duties are a must for NCOs to have on their resume. What are some of the Must have assignments or details in our records.2014-04-28T15:28:36-04:00MSG Martin C.113720<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I know every MOS is different and governed by DA PAM 600-25. Nominative assignments show diversity, but you need to ensure that you have your leadership time.Response by 1SG Steven Stankovich made Apr 28 at 2014 3:35 PM2014-04-28T15:35:16-04:002014-04-28T15:35:16-04:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member113802<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I was younger, I was convinced that I would be passed by my peers due to a lack of special duty assignments, but in reality, it did not hurt me at all. I think what is really important is how you perform in the assignments you are given. Leadership positions are always the best, but no matter where you are, be the best that you can be!Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 28 at 2014 4:47 PM2014-04-28T16:47:35-04:002014-04-28T16:47:35-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member113803<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>KD is what you are looking for. So as MSG Stankovich said: team leader, squad leader, section/platoon sergeant, first sergeant, and CSM. You also want to ensure that you have additional duties such as EO, SHARP, MRT, etc. to show that you can handle more than one thing at a time. This also makes you more valuable to your next assignment.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 28 at 2014 4:48 PM2014-04-28T16:48:05-04:002014-04-28T16:48:05-04:00CSM Richard StCyr5776474<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was an Army Engineer construction guy, for us:<br />- Leadership positions -Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, 1SG were critical positive discriminators.<br />- Staff slots- Operations NCO, Reconnaissance NCO<br />- Details- Drill Sergeant, Recruiter or Joint Duty<br />- General positive discriminators- Airborne, Sapper, Battle Staff Course, Master Fitness Course, Associates or higher degree , 290 or better on APFT, Expert on individual weapon.<br />These were listed in our old MOS manual (except Sapper, and Battle Staff they were added later) as well as DA Pam 600-25 and remained virtually the same for the 30 years I was in.Response by CSM Richard StCyr made Apr 14 at 2020 6:52 PM2020-04-14T18:52:46-04:002020-04-14T18:52:46-04:002014-04-28T15:28:36-04:00
