After gettin out of the Navy after 23 years I always end up being called “ Mark Aye”. Because I apparently answer every order with “Mark Aye (which is pronounced “I”. I never realize that I do it. I retired an HMC (SS/FMF) but during my first two years as A striker I stood the Helmsman watch...guess it stuck for life.

PO1 Gerald Taylor - I say that to everyone. Could be because of some hearing loss though; you know, from all those "cannon reports."

The Army's (and Air Force) motto and my mantra when waiting in long lines.
My grandson recently joined the Air Force and the 1st thing he said when we spoke on the phone "I'm loving it!" The 2nd thing he said "but I hate the "hurry up and wait." All we need is input from the Marines, Navy and Coastguard.

OH yeah, Navy is in too. Depending on the size of the ship you were on, the lines could be halfway around the open deck!!
