The Armed Forces Officer, originally written by SLA Marshall, subsequently updated for the last 50 years, its free as a pdf
2. The Army Officers Guide, its updated annually and will cost you some money. You'll find it useful for many things.
3. TR Fehrnbach This Kind of War.
4. AR600-20 The Army Command Policy. This codifies the role officers play and where our authority comes from.
5. AR670-1 and the DA PAM 670-1. (PS You'll need to present your Navy and Marine Corps decorations through personnel channels for a one time acceptance by DA. See HRC Army Awards Page for more info)

Fiction
1. The series of books written by Howard Coyle that starts with Team Yankee. As a Nurse, pay attention to The Ten Thousand. Howard Coyle is the Tom Clancy of maneuver warfare. He never met an OPLAN he didn't like. You'll pick up some stuff and not be miserable doing so.
2. Starship Troopers. First person to mention the sh!t movie will get it in the knee caps. Heinlein does a good job handling the divide between officers, NCOs, and enlisted soldiers. All references to gang latrines in the book have no jiggle factor. I hope Paul Verhoven rots.

CSA reading list.
