If your opinion &gt; skills and/or performance then you can be as aggressive as you want but it won't matter. <br />Are you going self employed or seeking a new position? Are you a recognized expert in a small field or do you bring something unique to the employer? I've never tried it personally, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I've also heard it helps to have a person on the inside who can inform you of what the company is paying others or what benefit packages are available.
