What are the best states for getting a job after getting out?

Getting out 18 months and was thinking Florida or tn but my biggest fear is not getting a good paying job. If I go Florida was thinking state trooper but pay is only around 35k... I'm a 12b just dont wanna stay in but dont know what good 9 to 5 jobs pay good so if me and wife have family and she cant work that I can cover it

Seriously, they have all KINDS of data on job availability, pay, locality, etc. Plus some websites they can link you in to to do even more research on your own.

A lot of things will influence you getting a good paying job right out of the Army... Have you done any college? Do you have any skills you’ve gained through service? Simply having military service, especially at the junior level isn’t enough to land you a high paying job. I’d be looking into your civilian education and thinking about picking up some technical certificates for skills relative to the career field you choose. I’m from Tennessee, born and raised, and my brother had 8 years of service and joined the Metro police department and just having that service meant little to them in terms of pay. After getting his bachelors and working copious amounts of side police jobs he was making real money. Now he’s a detective and is doing well.

18 months is tight to develop a network in two different geographical locations. I recommend getting on LinkedIn and start building your network. Like it or not you will be going thru rush week. Finding a job is no different than going thru the fraternity or sorority process. It’s not about what you know, it’s who you know. Join the group Veteran Mentor Network on LinkedIn and start looking for folks in Tn and Fl that you can connect with. Shoot me a note if you need some ideas or on resume build.

You're not likely to find a good paying, entry level job walking out of the Army as an E4. You need to plan on what career you want, identify the certifications you'll need to get those, and plan for it.
If you're going to go for these certificates or degree as a civilian with kids then your spouse will need to work to support you if that doesn't appeal to you, then you need to stay in the Army until you get those, or until you've saved enough money to supplement 4 years of income while you're in college.
You're an adult with family now, it's not about what you want, it's about what your family needs, and what you have to do to meet those needs.
