What are the chances of a 91B getting Fort Bragg, with an airborne option, as their first duty station?

I'm trying to get 91b with an airborne option but would like to know what are the chances of airborne/ranger recruiters coming to your ait? What's ait like?

Good question Michael, have you talked to anyone that went thru this that you know, and did you ask your recruiter the same question? I'd start with him first then go farther a field.

Pretty good as the Army is currently needing 91B’s (SL1) to be in ABN position per the latest bonus messages, but this is obviously for those that are currently serving. But your chances are higher than not.

The first day of in-processing at Ft. Gordon AIT, our Ranger liaison came and talked to everyone who was eligible and offered us a chance to volunteer for Airborne and Rangers. He also gave us a few weeks to make up our minds and still apply. I can't speak for other AITs, but I know that we were given every opportunity to volunteer.

As for AIT, again I can't speak for everyone, but my experience so far at Ft. Gordon has been great. As long as you're squared away and motivated, you can enjoy your time and learn a lot. The only soldiers I've heard of who hate AIT are the ones who want to hate AIT.

You can have your recruiter put it into your contract. You would go to basic, ait, then airborne, and then duty station. If you fail airborne then you become needs of the Army that means wherever you were promised is probably going to change.

AIT as a 91B is pretty easy, you do PT, you go to chow, you go to school, you go to chow, you go back to school, you go back to chow, you do whatever the task of the night is or you have free time and then you repeat. Weekends off eventually.

School house itself is general mechnical theory courses, break down component of engines, brakes, transmission, trouble shoot, hydraulic systems, etc.

If you request it at AIT your platoon sgt may be offering it to people with PT score 270+

None I went to fort Lee and saw none when I was in 91b training, but who knows my platoon sgt was a 91b airborne ranger so I guess the possibility Is there

There will be a Ranger Recruiter that should come talk to your company/class during AIT, this is where I picked up my contract. As long as you meet all the pre reqs (pt score and gt score) you should fill out the packet and go to airborne then to rasp. This is probably the safest bet on how to avoid going to Bragg straight from jump school. The regiment is in need of skill mos too so as a 91b all you gotta do is not quit and u should be solid.

I’m at fort bragg now. Best place to me. Learned a lot being a airborne mechanic, hotel 8 air assault. Living the dream

Honestly a really good chance. If you can get the option for airborne you have a high chance of coming to Bragg. I came to Bragg in 09 and got out in 12 and came back in 16 and they sent me back to Bragg. Lol. Good luck. Be careful what you wish for.

I've currently have been sworn in and my MOS is 91Bravo (wheel vehicle mechanic) with option 40 (Airborne school). My recruiter didn't talk to me about this. Until I whent through meps and was offerd option 40 with 91B.
