I&#39;d start with him first then go farther a field. SGT David A. Gordon AIT, our Ranger liaison came and talked to everyone who was eligible and offered us a chance to volunteer for Airborne and Rangers. He also gave us a few weeks to make up our minds and still apply. I can&#39;t speak for other AITs, but I know that we were given every opportunity to volunteer.<br /><br />As for AIT, again I can&#39;t speak for everyone, but my experience so far at Ft. Gordon has been great. As long as you&#39;re squared away and motivated, you can enjoy your time and learn a lot. The only soldiers I&#39;ve heard of who hate AIT are the ones who want to hate AIT. You would go to basic, ait, then airborne, and then duty station. If you fail airborne then you become needs of the Army that means wherever you were promised is probably going to change.<br /><br />AIT as a 91B is pretty easy, you do PT, you go to chow, you go to school, you go to chow, you go back to school, you go back to chow, you do whatever the task of the night is or you have free time and then you repeat. Weekends off eventually.<br /><br />School house itself is general mechnical theory courses, break down component of engines, brakes, transmission, trouble shoot, hydraulic systems, etc. SPC Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 19 Apr 2018 16:37:23 -0400 2018-04-19T16:37:23-04:00 Response by PV2 Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 21 at 2018 2:23 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-chances-of-a-91b-getting-fort-bragg-with-an-airborne-option-as-their-first-duty-station?n=3564492&urlhash=3564492 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you request it at AIT your platoon sgt may be offering it to people with PT score 270+ PV2 Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 21 Apr 2018 14:23:23 -0400 2018-04-21T14:23:23-04:00 Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 22 at 2018 9:52 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-chances-of-a-91b-getting-fort-bragg-with-an-airborne-option-as-their-first-duty-station?n=3568240&urlhash=3568240 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is not difficult to pick up an airborne contract in AIT SPC Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 22 Apr 2018 21:52:20 -0400 2018-04-22T21:52:20-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 26 at 2018 2:18 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-chances-of-a-91b-getting-fort-bragg-with-an-airborne-option-as-their-first-duty-station?n=3579131&urlhash=3579131 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>None I went to fort Lee and saw none when I was in 91b training, but who knows my platoon sgt was a 91b airborne ranger so I guess the possibility Is there SGT Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 26 Apr 2018 14:18:24 -0400 2018-04-26T14:18:24-04:00 Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 29 at 2018 3:28 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-chances-of-a-91b-getting-fort-bragg-with-an-airborne-option-as-their-first-duty-station?n=3586779&urlhash=3586779 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had a few friends that were able to make this happen SPC Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 29 Apr 2018 15:28:14 -0400 2018-04-29T15:28:14-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made May 4 at 2018 10:03 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-chances-of-a-91b-getting-fort-bragg-with-an-airborne-option-as-their-first-duty-station?n=3599673&urlhash=3599673 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There will be a Ranger Recruiter that should come talk to your company/class during AIT, this is where I picked up my contract. As long as you meet all the pre reqs (pt score and gt score) you should fill out the packet and go to airborne then to rasp. This is probably the safest bet on how to avoid going to Bragg straight from jump school. The regiment is in need of skill mos too so as a 91b all you gotta do is not quit and u should be solid. If you can get the option for airborne you have a high chance of coming to Bragg. I came to Bragg in 09 and got out in 12 and came back in 16 and they sent me back to Bragg. Lol. Good luck. Be careful what you wish for.
