I was discharged from the Army in 2011 after failing to maintain weight standards. After years of drinking, unhealthy eating, and losing my mother to not one but three heart attacks I got my act together, also largely thanks to my own wife and our kids. We recently moved from Dallas to KC for a job. That was back in November. I was 250lbs then. I’m down to 213lbs as of yesterday. I need to get down to at least 165lbs. A goal that I believe is possible by my next birthday, in which I’ll turn 32. That said, what are the odds that I’ll be able to get a waiver to re-enlist once so have the weight off? I’m older and wiser now. I’ve come to terms with the choices I made back then and I want another chance.

1st congratulations 2nd contact a recruiter and see what the MEPS Doctors will need to see from you. It's been a couple of years but the last one I heard about had to bring a letter from his private Doc the pass a PT test and a physical through MEPS
