That was actually mine but I stopped short and asked the NCO if this PFC was trying to screw around with me. So I got the PFC back on other things that he fell for. I was a PVT at the time and had the PFC look for a non-existent tool for services on the vehicles. Told him the PSG wanted him to get it from 1st PLT and if they gave it up, ask 3rd or 4th PLTs. He went around to all PLTs and the Motor pool looking for it.

In AIT, we had a poor guy running around looking for polarized fuses. When I was working SATCOM in RoK, I had Tech Control searching desperately for the India-Delta-10-Tango circuit when I told them a General in Hawaii was complaining it was down.

Had one of the Sgts in the H&S company giving direction to some young Marines. They were cleaning the head. He assigned each Marine a shitter, and told them to do a good job. Went on way longer than he should and then said if they did a stellar job, after several years "All this could be theirs" making a grand gesture to the entire head.

Basically "The reward for hard work is more hard work... shitty hard work."
