Today (8 Jul 2020) as noted in the papers, LTC Alexander Vindman supposedly submitted his retirement packet. It would be interesting to know what some military personnel feel about the LTC (as well as his brother) and their work while assigned as members of the NSC over the past couple years. His brother was also a part of the NSC, but in a different section as I understand it. I also read today that LTC A. Vindman was selected for COL, but probably did not know if it would have been approved since it required White House approval. Your thoughts on LTC Vindman's actions and his involvement in President Trump's US House of Representatives impeachment process? I have my personal opinions, but would like to know what the field thinks of his involvement during the whole process.

Enjoy retirement, pretty sure he was done hanging out in the Ukraine with the great gig. He contradicted himself on the stand and went outside the CoC when he didnt like the results. Sorry but he will have a great time being called a "War Hero" on CNN but retirement is best for all involved.

MSgt Gilbert Jones - you need to shut up and read the UCMJ and you will see your beloved "war hero" should have been courtmartialed and removed from the military. And you had better watch out chuckles as unless you are 70 years of age you can be recalled back to active duty and courtmartialed for violations of UCMJ Article 89. And the Supreme Court has already stated this was legal and constitutional as long as you are receiving one cent of benefits from the VA or a retirement from the Military.

Sorry SGT Gray, before you tell someone to shut up you need to stop reading BS from all these right wing groups and I probably read the UCMJ more times thing you since I had to use it a number of times to write up Article 15s, and other offenses in my duties as a 1st Sgt.

MSgt Gilbert Jones - I am reading nothing from the so called right wing groups, unlike you who is parroting all the left wing BS more then CNN and MSNBC. The fact of the matter is IF you had read the UCMJ then you would know I was correct and you were not and all you have to do is use google (google is your friend) and you will see that the 70 year old surgeon WAS recalled back to active duty just like I said, and that the SUPREME COURT has stated that they CAN call you back to duty and court martial you for violations of the UCMJ. And that article 89 clearly states "Punishment is warranted under Article 89 of the UCMJ to any service man or woman who behaves with disrespect toward his or her superior commissioned officer. ... That, under the circumstances, the behavior or language was disrespectful to that commissioned officer" and the President IS your superior officer and at no time does this say "former" it states you cant do it...PERIOD! By your own words you have proved nobody can trust anything you say.

Again SGT Gray, but regular retired AF and Army enlisted personal that have completed both their active and inactive reserve time and reached 30 years are "RETIRED" from active service. They are then civilians - yes they receive a retirement. They no longer fall under the UCMJ. It's a different story for officers! As for my leanings, I am neither left or right, I stand for what is right and I can tell the difference between the truth and a bunch of BS, can't say the same for you.

I believe that he endangered National Security as well as his brother and should be investigated by the Army for his conduct on the NSC.

MSgt Gilbert Jones He testified to counseling Foreign nationals. I'd that part of the oath? Isn't there something in the oath of following the orders of those placed over you? Didn't he violate that both with going around his Chain of Command and by placing his policy desires over the Commander in Chief.

An LTC does not set policy no matter how correct he thinks he is. I assume the 3 years he would have to complete as an O6 would have been challenging for him. I’m sure he will have many oppotmade available at much higher salaries at MSNBC. I wish him well and happiness.

TSgt (Join to see) - Why the downvote? Seems like a kneejerk reaction without looking into context at all. Quote from comment previous to my reply:
" Poor white man that feels he is being treated so bad! It's your kind of ass holes that want to destroy our democracy... "

MSgt Gilbert Jones - I'm late to the game on this thread, but I have to call BS on funeral home directors writing letters.....for someone that wasn't dead! If he was, it would have been a minimal delay that wouldn't require that much input.

PO2 Darren Martin - He is talking about active duty. There O-5s are a dime a dozen. His opinion is nice but not necessarily important in the scheme of things. Glad you got a graduate degree, but what would happen if you just implemented your own agenda at work, even after being told not to?
