You can do quick trips to the beach or up to the larger cities in NC.

What unit are you going to? My first assignment was the 82nd, wasn't a huge fan of it as a private ha, but that was due to bad leadership and would not mind going back now. I then did some time in USASOC which was a phenomenal assignment. I went back a couple years ago, Fayetteville has definitely grown. Raleigh isn't too far also, and like someone else said beaches aren't too far, so you're not totally land locked. Lots of open areas that we could access for running, etc. Unfortunately when I was there, barracks were rundown, family housing was minimal and in a general state of disrepair. Post facilities like bowling allys, etc were readily accessible to all. Hospital was rates as one of the worst of all Army Bases. Doctor's were sub par, and only did what was absolutely necessary. When you were seperating from active duty, all of the sudden, your knee pain was real, and needed immediate surgery to enable you to walk. Over all it was a good duty station, and I enjoyed my time at Bragg. Response by SP5 Richard Welch made Aug 10 at 2020 3:36 PM 2020-08-10T15:36:45-04:00 2020-08-10T15:36:45-04:00 CPL John C.
