Only active duty work for USASOC. He is going to work for USACAPOC. He COULD go ABN, but it's not guaranteed. Either way it should be a rewarding career. And the short answer is no. Everything you need, you will receive, everything you need to know they will teach. Take notes, ask questions, be involved, be a good teammate. You will be fine SFC Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 04 Apr 2018 15:42:49 -0400 2018-04-04T15:42:49-04:00 Response by SPC Matthew Reilly made Apr 4 at 2018 10:26 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-most-important-things-to-know-before-enlisting-37f?n=3513328&urlhash=3513328

Word. Either way, our course is very demanding, both intellectually and physically. SSG Aldana is correct in that you will be provided with everything you need to succeed, but your success will depend on you. In the mean time, I recommend reading up on the history of PSYOP, as well as the PSYOP process. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. You will go through MP OSUT for 19 weeks at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Depending on what MP company you land in decides how great that will be, but make sure you are a good runner. Aim for a 300 PT score and your life will be easier, especially once you hit airborne. MP OSUT will drive you crazy since you didn’t enlist as that, but it’s good training at times nevertheless. Plus, if you pass airborne and fail psyop selection, you’ll end up an airborne MP which isn’t bad at all. But if you fail airborne, you’ll end up in the 91 series, as I saw with my friends who failed. I’m at airborne currently, so I can’t give you any advice past this, but yes, the training is 47 weeks. 25 of them are for language school though, and you will have your phone and car and spouse for all of the post-airborne training. My husband is currently in military police training to become a PsyOp. I have questions about it as a married couple. First of all will he get weekends off when he goes to his 43 week training if he is selected? What is life like being married and being a Psyop? Do they deployed as much as possible? How long are deployments? Where do they usually get stationed? Will I most likely be able to live with him during those 43 weeks of training?

Thanks!
