What are the odds of deploying during a six year National Guard contract?

So my question is: I'm National Guard, I'm still in AIT, but when I get out and get to my unit back home, what are the odds of me deploying at any time during my six year contract? I'm a 25U by the way.

When I was in the WANG they were on a rotation of about every four years. Plus we had people who were interstate transfers for the deployment. If deployment is something you're interested in, you could transfer to another unit that is headed out.

As 25U I think slim , but if you were 11B or any other critical MOS then that could be a different story. keep up with current events and DOD. that might give you a better understanding of whats ahead . think about it this way: as 25U what / where do I fit in ? what could I be used for ? When I was deployed. I had 1ea. 25U for my whole Infantry company and he was busy as hell.

They're low. I did 5 years in the Army Guard before switching to the Air. I was able to deploy in 2014, but many of my peers did not get the opportunity.

It depends on your unit of deployable my unit is not

Well you very well might not deploy but I would keep training Every DAY and Keep YOURSELF IN TOP SHAPE. I TRAINED EVERYDAY AS IF I WAS GOING TO WAR WELL I NEVER WENT TO WAR BUT I KNEW THAT I MIGHT BE CALLED UPTON TO SERVE IN A COMBAT ROLE AND I WAS ACTIVE DUTY FOR 16.5 years and I look at I WAS READY AT ALL TIMES. SO DRIVE ON AND KEEP IN SHAPE YOU WILL NEVER KNOW UNTIL IT COMES SO GOOD LUCK.

I've been in the Guard for 9 years and I've deployed twice. Both times were within a year of enlisting. The rumor mill says my 3rd is right around the corner so that would make 3 in 10 years.

Depending on what unit you join and where they are at in the ARFORGEN cycle will determine the likelihood of deploying. Of course, demand could arise depending on your MOS which could push or bump you off of the bubble.

I have deployed every four years like clockwork and I am Signal and Logistics.
As a 25U, expect the 335 or 311 Signal Cmd or down trace unit to cross level you if you don't deploy in four years. Signal active duty assets keep getting cut back so reserve Signal is leaned on even harder. Deployment is the reason we should we serve, I hope you get the opportunity.

Well it depends on what's going on in the world and how stretched out active duty is. If there's a war/conflict going on and there are troops on ground then maybe YES! But if not where would you get deployed to? Mid 90's was a good example of this. There were more than enough active duty troops and not enough demand for troops overseas so NG didn't see many deployments if any!

Never say never, I was 58 in a non-deploying training unit. Got a call at 1800 one night and 36 days later I was at FT Jackson with IA orders
