SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3799312

I'm currently trying to reclass out of 11b into 68c. Both are understrength MOS's, and I just recently finished the process with a 4187 which is being sent up to HRC. My retention NCO is currently unavailable for a bit so I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with the process, and how likely it is for a reclass to be approved from understrengthed to understrengthed.

Also, do you still receive the reclassification bonus when doing a voluntary reclass? Thanks in advance.

edit: I am also currently in my window and very close to ETS. What are the odds of my 4187 being approved to reclassify from 11B into 68C? Do you still receive the reclassification bonus? 2018-07-16T23:19:35-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3799312

I'm currently trying to reclass out of 11b into 68c. The 4187 is completely unnecessary. It's an exception to policy request to move from one under strength MOS to another. Low probability of success. It's all up to HRC strengths management though. I just reinlisted for 15w from 11b so I'm sure the process is the same...... In the end, reclass was denied by HRC in-out calls didn’t line up. I did a minimum, bare bone 2 year reenlistement and waited until the in-out calls lined up.

FYI, You are in your re-enlistment window 15 months out now (this window changes frequently though). If you can’t find an MOS you are interested in reclassing to, I recommend the 2-year, then after 9 months try again once the window opens up.

I just came from MEDCOM recently. Just so you now... long term plan there is replace all 68W (combat medics) that are currently working in medical clinics and treatment facilities with 68C (LPN), and get all the 68W In with a BSB or CSH. The demand for LPNs is still through the roof. Much higher than the demand for 11B. HRC may yet say yes this time, so don’t get your hopes up yet. I was approved for reclassification and just reenlisted today for 4 years as a 68c. I'll be starting school in May of next year. Thank you everyone for the help! A 4187 won’t do you any good from your COC because hrc still won’t approve it because the branch is still in a shortage. I reclassify from 11B to 68c back in January 2 days before the shortage hit so I got lucky. Unfortunately you will have to wait out the shortage until ts over before you can reclass at all Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 17 at 2018 3:50 PM 2018-08-17T15:50:39-04:00 2018-08-17T15:50:39-04:00 2018-07-16T23:19:35-04:00
