I'm currently trying to reclass out of 11b into 68c. Both are understrength MOS's, and I just recently finished the process with a 4187 which is being sent up to HRC. My retention NCO is currently unavailable for a bit so I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with the process, and how likely it is for a reclass to be approved from understrengthed to understrengthed.

Also, do you still receive the reclassification bonus when doing a voluntary reclass? Thanks in advance.

edit: I am also currently in my window and very close to ETS.

It's not a voluntary Reclass when you're in your reenlistment window. The 4187 is completely unnecessary. It's an exception to policy request to move from one under strength MOS to another. Low probability of success. It's all up to HRC strengths management though.

Just wanted to add this update. I was approved for reclassification and just reenlisted today for 4 years as a 68c. I'll be starting school in May of next year. Thank you everyone for the help!
