What are the policy and process for Reservists being able to attend BLC while deployed? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-policy-and-process-for-reservists-being-able-to-attend-blc-while-deployed <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have read on other blogs that deployment is no longer a factor when it comes to attending BLC. Meaning if a soldier is overseas and the unit back home finds a seat in a BLC Course for the soldier then that soldier is able to attend the course even if they are deployed. The soldier will be sent home to attend and will either return to the mission or stay stateside. The active duty units here send their soldiers home for BLC/ALC. Does this policy stand for Reservist as well? If so how do soldiers go about informing their Chain of Command of this policy and to allow the soldiers to be considered for possible open seats in BLC courses during the months of deployment. Either my NCOIC is unaware or does not support it but could absolutely use this oppurtunity to its advantage. (Not refering to attending BLC in overseas the waitlist is very hard to get on. Refering to BLC stateside). Thank you for all of your assistance. A Resevist is on active duty for a specific reason. If on AD for any mission they cannot attend any NCOES or OES unles the come off mission AD first. They can reapply to be mobilized after they complete the school. SFC Don Lawrence Thu, 15 Mar 2018 01:56:03 -0400 2018-03-15T01:56:03-04:00 2018-03-12T08:24:39-04:00
