I would not worry about the BLC at least until you become and E4. There should be much more to concern yourself with between now and then. Thank you for your service.

Complete SSD1. It takes about 12 hours overall, but if you complete a module here and there you will have it done and out of the way in no time. One less thing to worry about later. The fact you already have it done will make it look like you are taking the initiative.

You must first complete SSD1. Get some time under your belt to get promoted to Specialist. Work harder than your peers with motivation and you might receive a promotion waiver from PFC to SPC. Then, once you hit your secondary zone as an E4 (17 months TIS and 5 month TIG) you are eligible to go to the promotion board. In the meantime, request to do mock boards with your leadership. Enter a soldier of the month board competition once you feel comfortable enough. Once you have earned your promotable status, you and your first line should put together a schools Packet for BLC with all required documents.

Currently be an E-4 selected for promotion, pass APFT within 30 days of course start date. Pass HT/WT screening IAW AR 600-9 and have a Crye Jumpable Plate Carrier.
