What are the requirements to reclassify to 17C?

I’m interested in reclassify to 17C mos. My issue is I have heard different requirements for the Mos. For one is this an mos you can apply for so long as the TIS is less the 4 years or does it have to be no less than 12 months? And what certifications will make you better candidate for the mos?

1. Talk to your retention NCO. 2. If you didn't want to be a tanker then why waste our money? 3. You will have to serve a certain length of time in your MOS and at the Post before you can even think about changing MOS, so suck it up buttercup.

The application is on the Cyber school website. Once you're accepted bring the 4187 and acceptance memo to your Career Counselor.

Find the MOS group in AKO portal. Get in touch with one of the recruiters in the group. Follow the packet instructions and send it in. If I remember correctly, the logic test was easy so don't fret it.

You can apply for reclass regardless of how much time you have in service, as long as you meet the time left on your contract or willing to re-enlist to meet the requirements. All forms of technical certifications will always strengthen any packet. Ideally among them will be CompTIA certifications (Security+, Network+, CASP), degrees in areas related to computers and/or information technology and/or cyber security, Cisco certifications, Microsoft certifications, etc. You can download all the packet reclassification information from Fort Gordon's web site and start putting one together. Work with a retention NCO if you are serious about it once you look at what is needed. There are no "different requirements" as the packet is the packet.
