What are the rules for an E-4 dropping you?

If we have an E-4 as a squad leader filling an E-5 position could they drop me just like a sergeant could, or would they have to do it with me? I have been getting conflicting responses.

Are you in a training environment? If not, I would figure you be getting counseled instead of being dropped.

It doesn't matter what insignia he/she wears on the front of their blouse, if they have been given the position of Squad Leader and you are in that Squad, you are required to do anything that is not illegal.

In my command it is no longer a thing to drop down soldiers they consider it hazing with the new policies.

Decades ago that was more of a leadership style. Dealing with the issue now has become the much more prevalent, mental training now. Thanks to an ever-growing knowledge base, just on what is now considered basic psychology learned in high schools, the benefit of that practice works in most cases.

HOWEVER, there will always be that head case you can't get through too! Physical training is the most effective for those but make sure you are ready to set the example your willingness, to and join that junior-enlisted person for that exercise session!

They're your boss, push.
Doesn't matter their rank, when I was an E4 I was a terror. They could be a PFC and if they're you're boss and correcting you, you push.

Nothing about this post was meant to imply I was opposed to corrective training in this manner. It was simply brought up in discussion and nobody had a hard and fast answer.

I am an E4 squad leader at the moment, and although I have the authority to "drop" one of my guys, I have only done it once, and it was a pretty big screw up.

I prefer to redirect and train them when they are out of regs.

Someone on RP once told me " be the leader you would want to lead you" I try to lead with that in mind
