What are the rules regarding prior service re-enlisting when their new contract pushes them past their RCP? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-rules-regarding-prior-service-re-enlisting-when-their-new-contract-pushes-them-past-their-rcp

am prior service looking to rejoin. I talked to the recruiter today and they said everything looked good for rejoining untill I asked about RCP. I was a SPC when i got out with 5 1/2 years TIS. When I brought up RCP one of the recruiters started talking about how maybe I couldn't re join because the minimum 3 year contract would push me past RCP. You can reenlist past your RCP date so it seems like you could re join. He never really gave me a clear answer. Was wondering if there is anyone who might know something about this? I know this because I went from Reserve to Active...serving just under 10 years before getting out. When I came back in a few years later, I asked about RCP because that was also a concern....I was advised by my Recruiter and MEPS that this will not be an issue because of the recalculations. Mind you, if you belong to an overstrenght mos your RCP would still be 8 years regardless of the status SGT Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 29 Jan 2020 20:37:15 -0500 2020-01-29T20:37:15-05:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 29 at 2020 10:17 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-rules-regarding-prior-service-re-enlisting-when-their-new-contract-pushes-them-past-their-rcp?n=5498250&urlhash=5498250

You can't reenlist past your RCP, that's the purpose of an RCP.
TIS for RCP is based on your active time, so if some of that 5 1/2 years is reserve it doesn't count towards RCP.
HRC is the ultimate approval authority for exceptions to policy, so they may grant you an ETP to go past your RCP by a few months, especially if you've already attended BLC. Don’t get me wrong, business rules are ever changing. Best COA is to call the recruiter twice a day for updates to get the contract you want SFC Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 30 Jan 2020 21:04:28 -0500 2020-01-30T21:04:28-05:00 Response by Sgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 30 at 2020 11:28 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-rules-regarding-prior-service-re-enlisting-when-their-new-contract-pushes-them-past-their-rcp?n=5502244&urlhash=5502244

Per RallyPoint policy, initials are not allowed. please edit your name to use your real name.

http://support.rallypoint.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1311927-how-do-i-change-my-name-

How do I change my name?

NOTE:RallyPoint requires our members to use their real names.
