What are the time on station requirements to volunteer for a short tour, like Korea?

This is more of a "what if" since I am reporting to Fort Campbell next month. I've always known that Korea was an important tour for 74D, but I received an e-mail the other day listing a bunch of requisitions that needed filled and it got me wondering what TOS mark I would need to hit if I wanted to volunteer for a tour.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member Don't quote me on this, but I think you have to be on station at least 12 months before you can move again, it's been a while since I PCS'ed without a known exit date.

In 2012, it was a 12 month unaccompanied tour and 36 if you wanted to bring your dependents. There was alot of talk about changing the length of the tour though so don't quote me.

You might want to ask what assignment most folks PCS to from Fort Campbell, KY.

I cannot answer this question for you, but I served three tours in Korea involuntarily as a PFC, SSG, and CPT. It might be helpful if you had my *luck*

Call your career manager rather than guess. If you want Korea, ask if you can get diverted to Korea with a return to Ft Campbell.
